ルワンダ回想録⑭ついに対面、野生のゴリラ！＜前半＞
管理人＜ゴリラトレッキング前半＞ Finally one of my dreams has come true! ついに叶った一つの夢。【野生のゴリラに会うこと🦍】そう、INSHUTIのロゴにも描かれているゴリラ。実はこれも、私のゴリラ愛の表れなのです！
2017年3月18日の日記 ずっと憧れていた、でも人生数えるくらいしんどい先にあった夢が叶った旅日記。
今週月曜日、ルワンダに来てから１年5ヵ月目にして念願のゴリラに会いに行くことが出来た。
中学３年生の時にメルボルンZooでゴリラを見てから密かな！？ゴリラファンだったのだけれどルワンダに来たらからには絶対に行きたいと常に話してきた。が、キガリから車で３時間。 ウガンダとコンゴとの国境近く、北のムサンゼという街に移動して１泊してから翌朝山に登る。
１５歳以下は参加できないため子どもたちは連れて行けない。これはゴリラが子どもたちをゴリラの子どもだと認識して危険であるという理由から。
というわけで子どもたちが私が居なくても眠れるようになったことと、もうすぐ離任する友人と最後の思い出に、と言うきっかけでタイミングは今しかない！ということで先週の金曜日に手配を開始。（おそ！） 日曜日に出発。先週も今週も平日はずっと出張の夫が土・日・月だけキガリに帰っていたので申し訳ないけれど日・月で決行。
行くのか行かないのかあやふやなまま、やや下調べはしていたものの情報は不十分だったため知っているドライバーと車を確保。⇒友達から聞いたロッジを前日にそのまま予約。⇒ゴリラパーミッションと言われるルワンダ開発庁で取らなければいけない許可、 前日の受付終了３０分前に取得（３７５USD）上がるというのは単なる噂。（外国からの旅行者は７００USD）⇒当日の朝パッキング。
こんなドタバタで、相棒Y子と出発！
行きの車は３時間があっという間に過ぎるほどの弾丸トーク。途中道の駅、と呼ばれる休憩スポットでブロシェットやポテトの炭火焼きを買い。夕方５時半ごろ宿泊地に到着。 写真の見た目とは裏腹に小さなコテージにツインをくっつけたベッドが二つ。
やや遠慮して！？ダブルベッドの部屋ではなく、レセプションにやや近い方のツインにしたら、バスルームは水漏れでびっちょびちょ。 早速水はき箒で改善を試みる。
コンセントのプラグを抜こうとするとコンセントごと壁から外れる。爆笑ハプニングのオンパレード(笑)
おなかも空いてきたしレストランへ移動。６時半にメニューを聞かれて、ようやくスターターのスープが出てきたのが８時。暖炉の傍で炒ったピーナツをつまみながらゆっくり過ごす。
Yちゃんがピーナツの入ったボールに勢いよくごそっとピーナツをとろうとした瞬間熱すぎて飛び上がる(笑)
夕食最後に出てくるコーヒーは一人２リットルあるか！？くらいの大容量(笑)
実は、３日前に抜歯をしていたのと微熱が続いて体調が悪かったためにアルコールは控えて、雷と降り出した雨のなか部屋に戻る。眠くてコンタクトが乾きあまり見えない中暗闇を部屋まで戻る。
部屋に戻ってバスルームを確認するも未だびちょびちょ(笑)部屋を替えてもらおうと思ってもまた雨の中をレセプションまで戻らねばならず断念(＾＾；
厠へ行くのも気が進まず小さい部屋を二人でもぞもぞウロウロ(笑)ようやく決心して寝る準備に取り掛かると、停電Σ(ﾟдﾟlll)それでもしばらく待つと戻り、湯たんぽを抱えて二人ベッドイン。湯たんぽ、あったかいけど暫くすると暑すぎて逆に眠れず(笑)
諸々共通点の多い相棒と積もる話をしながら結局うつらうつら眠りにつき、５時半起床。
翌朝、約束通りの朝食の時間に出てくるはずもなく、マッハで掻き込みゴリラトレッキングのグループ分け、注意点のブリーフィングを聞く場所へ向かう。
７：００。 ゴリラトレッキングは、山登りのコースが３種類ありたくさん歩きたい人（登り３時間コース）、そこそこ歩きたい人（登り１～２時間コース）、あんまり歩けないor歩きたくない人（１時間以内）に振り分けられるという噂を聞いていた。
もちろんゴリラは野生の生き物。森の中のどの辺に居るかによって森の入り口から１５分から２０分で会える人もいれば、山の上の上まで上がってから会える人、その日のコンディションに依るらしい。
１５分～２０分の簡単コースは、 年配の方であまり登れない人のコースですぐに会えてしまうと感動もない、折角大金を払って見に行くならミドルコースを希望する方が良いと聞いていた。
歓迎のトラディショナルダンスを見ながらコーヒーを飲み出発の準備をしている。前日の雨で足元がドロドロらしいので山登りの際に靴に付けるカバーを４５０円ほど支払って借りる。
その後、ルワンダ開発庁で取得したパーミッションを持って同じく開発庁のキニギの支局でIDカードを確認されてようやくグループに入れられる。
１５分では物足りないからミドルコースに入りたいとの旨を伝えてみる。
Umbano（＝英語でpeaceful relationshipという意味）のグループに入れられてブリーフィングを受ける。このグループでは、Mr.Charlesという名前のゴリラがボスのファミリーを追跡するらしい。
そこからまた車で登山口まで移動する。そこまでの道がまた岩がごろごろしていてパーキングに着いた頃には、乗り物酔いに強い私たちでもグロッキー。今から登るっていうのに。。。
９：００。そこで作業着を着たポーター（運び屋さん）が同行。みんなで登山口へ向かう。
グループ分けの場になんとなく一緒になったのが、Sam,Jutta,Poleという３名。Kariというガイドさん率いるUmbanoグループ。
Samは登山用ステッキ持参という用意周到。なのだが、ショートパンツ(＾＾ｖ そしてデンマーク人というPoleとJutta。二人の関係は不明。
登山口まで、一面の畑を通り抜けて登山口へ。ここで森に入ってからの注意点を確認。
・話さない ・間を開けない・水を飲みたいとき、もよおしたとき、など何かあれば声をかけること ・ゴリラと出逢ったときは、ゴリラが嫌がることをしない（ゴリラの合図に従う）・道は譲る
いよいよ森に。いざ、出陣。後半に続く。
On Monday, I could have met mountain gorillas after 17months at last! Since I have been to Melbourne zoo at age of 15, I've been a secret fun of gorilla (^^v, so I've been talking that I want to go. However it takes three hours from Kigali to Musanze and children under 16 years old are not allowed because gorilla can recognize them as their family. Now, my kids can sleep without me and my friend Yuko is going to leave Rwanda soon. It's the perfect timing! Then we decided suddenly on Friday and left Kigali on Sunday(wow) my husband was out of Kigali for two weeks, but was staying only Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We were doing reserch a little bit, but was not enough information. I hired the driver and the car for two days on Friday →booked an accommodation on the day before(wow)→got "gorilla permition" one hour before the closing time at Rwanda Development Board(375USD for residence)→packed everything in the morning on the leaving day(wow)
With such a tight schedule, I left with another Y!
Three hours on the way has past so fast chatting so much. At Nirangarama so called a roadside station for resting, we bought beef brochet and potato. At 5:30 pm we reached to the lodge. It was not like the one we saw on the picture, but fine. There were two beds in the room and we chose not double, but twin bed room (shoul have chosen double lol ) As the barhroom was all wet I tried to wipe which was not helpful at all (lol). Beside a concent plug was broken. We had already so much fun by un settled facility which is really African. Getting hungry, we moved to the restaurant. It was sooooooo cold. Our starter soup came after 1 and half hour of our order. Wile they were cooking, sitting near the fire place eating roast peanuts. Another Y put her hand in the bowl of peanuts was so hot that she jumped! Coffee sereved after dinner was like a bottle for 2 little size!! To tell the truth, I had taken my tooth three days before, and had not been feeling well, so didn't drink alchole. When the big thunder and rain has started we went back to the room. The situation of the bathroom was the same (^^;, we though to change the room but it was raining and we had to go back to the reception for asking someone, then we decided to stay there. Even in the small room, we were walking around considering if go to --- or not(^^; In preparing to go to bed, electricity has gone(wow) At the end we holding the warm bag filled with hot water inside, but was too hot so that we could not sleep for a while. Yuko and Yuko had a great deal to talk about. On the next morning we woke up at 5:30. Next morning our breakfat at 6:00 was not ready (^^; , then bolted our food and headed to the breafing point. @7:00 I was told that there are three courses of trecking. The first one is for peope who want to walk a lot, the second one is for people who want to walk about an hour to two hours, and the last one in for people who cannot or don't want to walk so much. Off course gorillas are the wild animals, so even guide cannot tell exactly how far it is. It is depend on the condition of the day. I was told that I should be in the middle course otherwise 15 to 20 minutes walk is not enough for meeting wild gorillas paying such an expensive fee. Traditional dancing show and coffee was ready together with apropriate gear for trecking mountain after raining. I paid about 5 USD for borowwing the cover to put on the feet. We needed to pass the ID card for checking the gorilla permision again and joined to one of the group called Umbano. We told our guide that 20 minutes walk is not enough. Again we had to move to the starting poing of the forest. Until the starting point had already a rough road which was enough for us to feel nausy. From that point porter joined our group. In the same group we had Sam, Jutta and Paule. Kari was our guide. Sam had brought a steck with him and was wearing a short pants(wow). Just before entering into the forest, we were confirmed attention points. ・Do not talk. ・ Do not make a distance between buddies. ・When we want to take a drink or go to toilet, just let him know. ・When we meet gorilla, we have to follow the instructions ・ We have to give gorillas the path. Finally we entered into the forest. Followed to the latter half.
